General Container Information

  • It depends on what you're storing and the space you have available. As a rough guide:

    • 8ft — garden tools, sporting equipment and small storage

    • 10ft — roughly the contents of a single garage

    • 20ft — comfortably holds a 2–3 bedroom home

    • 40ft — larger homes, bulk storage and commercial use

    If you need extra internal height, for tall furniture, large equipment or a workspace fit-out, a High Cube container adds an extra 300mm and is available in both 20ft and 40ft.

  • We supply a full range of shipping containers in 8ft, 10ft, 20ft, and 40ftsizes. Available options include:

  • We supply both new and used shipping containers. New (one-trip) containers have been shipped to Australia once. Used containers are retired from international shipping and are available in a range of grades. From premium IICL containers with minimal wear through to budget ASIS containers sold as-is. Every container we sell can be inspected before delivery or purchase. Reach out to find the most suitable container for you.

  • Used containers are graded by condition. At Foreshore we stock five grades: New / One Trip, IICL, Cargo Worthy, Wind & Water Tight and ASIS. Each suited to different needs and budgets.   • Yes — we offer flexible container hire and container sales to suit both short-term and long-term needs. Whether you're in Woonona, Nowra, or anywhere on the South Coast, we can deliver directly to you.

Delivery & Placement

  • Yes! We deliver containers locally in Wollongong, Illawarra, Nowra, and throughout the South Coast, as well as NSW-wide. Our delivery options include tilt-tray, side-loader, and crane truck depending on your site access.

    • 20ft container: approx. 3m wide x 18m long clearance

    • 40ft container: approx. 3m wide x 20m long clearance (side loader) longer for tilt tray.

  • Yes — our experienced drivers will assist in safely positioning the container where you need it.

  • Delivery timeframes vary depending on stock availability and your location. In most cases we can organise shipping container delivery throughout Wollongong, the Illawarra and South Coast NSW within a few business days. For urgent requirements, contact us.

Container Modifications & Custom Builds

  • Yes! We offer container modifications for:

    • Site offices

    • Workshops or retail pop-ups

    • Equipment rooms

    • Event containers

    Modifications can include: doors, windows, insulation, electrical, roller doors, shelving, and custom paint.


    • We welcome inspections at our Woonona facility by appointment. While we sometimes have modified containers in stock for viewing, availability can vary. If you're ordering a custom-modified container, a deposit is required before we begin the modification process. Feel free to contact us to check current stock or discuss your project needs.

On-Site Storage at Our Woonona Facility

  • Yes. We offer secure storage services in Woonona, ideal for trades, business overflow, or temporary storage needs. Accessible for clients in Wollongong, Nowra, and the South Coast.

  • Access is during business hours (Mon–Fri, 7am–7pm). Weekend access between 7am-7pm is available by appointment.

Container Unpacking & Local Distribution

  • Yes — we offer full container unpacking and local distribution across Wollongong, Illawarra, and Nowra. Perfect for clients who lack the space or staff to unload large shipments.

  • We do. Once your goods are unpacked and stored, we can deliver smaller loads locally or regionally — including NSW-wide.
